State of the Art Design Software

ACPPA offers two software programs, jointly developed by ACPPA and the consulting firm of Simpson, Gumpertz & Heger of Boston, to assist manufacturers, consultants and owners in the design of pipelines using concrete pressure pipe.

THRUST RESTRAINT
Design Program

The purpose of developing this program was to assist in the design of restraint systems for concrete pressure pipelines, adhering to the guidelines outlined in the manual of water supply practice known as “Concrete Pressure Pipe (M9), 3rd Edition,” as well as the relevant AWWA Standards for Concrete Pressure Pipe.

Through its interactive interface, this software offers users a precise and dependable design program, effectively streamlining the entire design process.

UNIFIED
Design Program

The primary objective of this program is to support the design of prestressed concrete cylinder pipes, aligning with the specifications provided in AWWA Standard C304, titled “Design of Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe.”

By utilizing this program, engineers can efficiently generate and verify pipe designs that meet all relevant standards, including the AASHTO HL 93 live load requirements (which supersede HS 20 in AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, 8th Edition).

With its accuracy and reliability, this software offers a simplified approach to the production and evaluation of compliant pipe designs. The UNIFIED Design Program is no charge to ACPPA Members. Non Members: $5500 per single copy, $2500 per additional copy.
