Quality Assurance

A Lasting Commitment to Quality Manufacturing

ACPPA manages an independent audit program to certify compliance with all applicable AWWA standards for the design and manufacture of concrete pressure pipe. The ACPPA Compliance Audit and Certification Program, administered by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), is much more than an observation of the final product. LRQA’s auditors examine more than 200 specific operational aspects at each facility, including:

  • Customer/project requirements;
  • AWWA tests/inspections;
  • Material acquisition and verification process;
  • Personnel training/experience;
  • Testing equipment calibration/accuracy;
  • Special trades (i.e. welding) certifications;
  • And many more.

Upon successful completion of the audit, LRQA issues a compliance certificate that remains valid for a period of one year. Any areas of concern observed during an audit are addressed between the manufacturer, ACPPA and LRQA before the certificate is issued. This process exemplifies the commitment of ACPPA and its members to provide quality products to the water industry.

The ACPPA Compliance Audit and Certification Program ensures that every manufacturing facility consistently meets or exceeds the AWWA Standards for Concrete Pressure Pipe. The applicable standards – C300, C301, C302 and C303 – are distilled into a checklist for use by LRQA’s auditors and facility staff. The itemized guide helps to verify that the manufacturing processes are in total compliance with the standards.

The following companies currently hold a valid Certificate of Compliance for the design and manufacture of concrete pressure pipe at each of their plants producing concrete pressure pipe:
